movingartsbase and International Workshop Festival present

OPENING THE DOOR

16 and 17 August 2008 at movingartsbase, Islington, London, N1
An experiential workshop in body, imagination and health for artists and health professionals

with dancers Gill Clarke and Miranda Tufnell,
visual artist Chris Crickmay and
musician Sylvia Hallett.

These two days offer an environment for shared creative experiences. We will begin in the body, moving out of our heads and into a deeper awareness of the present moment and what is within and around us.

How can we be more imaginatively awake to our ‘selves’ as well as the needs of others? Through an exploration of the interconnectedness of body and environment, through moving, writing and making, the workshop will offer ways to replenish ourselves and to deepen understanding of health as an embodied process.

The weekend is for all those interested in developing the relationships between arts, health and wellbeing - and the opening of doors between the processes of artistic practice and both main stream and alternative health practice

Places are limited and the deadline for applications is Friday 11 July at 4pm

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION INCLUDING HOW TO APPLY please see the attached project details. These can also be downloaded from www.movingartsbase.co.uk, or sent by email from admin@movingartsbase.co.uk
